I create personalized pet portraits from your favorite photographs—from timeless black-and-white sketches to expressive mixed-media paintings filled with color, personality, and meaningful details that make your pet unmistakably yours.
I’m Kerry, the Rhode Island artist and longtime pet-care professional behind Kerry’s Keepsakes. After caring for more than 150 local pet families, I’ve learned that every animal has their own expressions, quirks, favorite things, and unmistakable personality.
Each portrait begins with your photographs. I use AI-assisted digital tools to help develop the initial composition and drawing reference, then I personally refine and finish the physical portrait by hand using graphite, colored pencil, acrylic, or mixed-media techniques. The technology helps me plan the image, while the artistic choices, hands-on work, and final character of every portrait are mine.
I’m also the creator of Mickey’s Misadventures, a playful comic inspired by the real-life antics of my mischievous tuxedo cat, Mickey. Each episode combines visual storytelling, photographic evidence, and a little useful pet-care wisdom.

Classic Pet Sketch — Starting at $60
An 8×10 black-and-white graphite portrait created from your favorite photograph and presented in a simple display frame.
One pet — $60
Two pets — $80
Story Portrait on Canvas — Starting at $150
A one-of-a-kind 16×20 mixed-media painting combining a recognizable portrait of your pet with expressive color, abstract marks, and meaningful details from their life. Favorite toys, colors, symbols, and other personal touches can be incorporated into the composition.
One pet — $150
Two pets — $190
Additional pets: $20 each for Classic Pet Sketches or $40 each for Story Portraits.
A deposit reserves your commission spot, with the remaining balance due when your portrait is complete.
Classic Pet Sketch deposit — $30

Classic Pet Sketches are generally completed within one week. Please allow approximately two to three weeks for a Story Portrait on Canvas.
Complimentary local delivery is available in North Kingstown and East Greenwich.
Framed sketches can be shipped within the contiguous United States for a flat $18. Shipping for 16×20 canvases are quoted separately.
How It Works
Whether you choose a classic graphite sketch or a colorful Story Portrait,
the process begins with your favorite pet photographs and ends with a one-of-a-kind keepsake created especially for you.
Share Your Photos
Submit up to three clear photographs showing your pet’s face, coloring, special markings, and personality.
If you are one of my pet-care clients, you may also ask me to choose from photographs I have already taken of your pet during our time together.
Review Your Design
I’ll prepare the portrait composition for your approval before creating the finished artwork. One layout revision is included before the final drawing or painting begins.
Receive Your Keepsake
Classic Pet Sketches are framed and generally ready within one week. Story Portraits are finished on a ready-to-hang 16×20 canvas and generally completed within two to three weeks. Local delivery and shipping are available.

I accept a maximum of three commissions at a time so every portrait receives the care and attention it deserves.

Commission Policy
Deposits and cancellations
A deposit reserves your commission spot and is applied toward the total price.
- Classic Pet Sketch deposit: $30
- Story Portrait deposit: $75
If you cancel before I begin working on your portrait, your deposit will be refunded. Once work has begun, the deposit covers time and materials already invested and is nonrefundable. If you cancel at that point, you will not owe the remaining balance. Because each portrait is custom-made, completed artwork cannot be returned or exchanged unless it arrives damaged.
Creative process and AI-assisted tools
Each portrait begins with the photographs you provide. I use AI-assisted digital tools to help develop the initial composition and drawing reference. I personally refine and complete the physical artwork by hand using traditional materials. You’ll have an opportunity to review and approve the composition before I begin the finished portrait.
Revisions
I’ll send you the portrait composition for approval before beginning the finished drawing or painting. One layout adjustment is included at this stage.
I’ll discuss the cost of any additional requested changes with you before making them. Once the final artwork has begun, further changes may not be possible.
Shipping damage
If your portrait arrives damaged, please email hello@kerryskeepsakes.com within seven days of delivery with photographs of the artwork, frame or canvas, and packaging. Please keep all packaging while I review the damage. I’ll work with you to repair or replace the damaged portrait at no additional cost.
